   John Lesko
Owner / Managing Director
John Lesko, a fifth generation funeral director and former owner of the Lesko funeral Home in Fairfield Center before passing his share of the establishment to a family member in 2003. He was hired to be Managing Director of Hoyt-Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, Norwalk and in August 2018, after almost a decade of managing the Historic funeral home, he is proud to announce he is now the owner. In honor and respect for the funeral home’s heritage, he has reintroduced the Raymond Funeral Home name to the business and our community.
John grew up in Black Rock and enjoyed sailing and fishing on Long Island Sound. He graduated from Fairfield College Prep in 1980 and then graduated from New England Institute of Applied Arts and Sciences (Mt. Ida College) in Boston, Mass.
His family started their funeral business in 1909 in the West End of Bridgeport. It evolved from a Livery business where his great-great grandfather provided the carriages for the local funeral parlor. The Hungarian neighborhood encouraged him, which lead to opening his own funeral home and it was passed from father to son for generations.
John is a member of the City of Norwalk Planning Commission, Norwalk Chamber of Commerce, East Norwalk Business Association and the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce in Norwalk. He is the past President of the Fairfield Kiwanis, he also served on the Advisory Board for the Dioceses of Bridgeport Special Education, and is a 3rd Degree member of the Knights of Columbus. John has always been involved in the community and volunteers for numerous charities.
