For over 50 years, Edward “Ned” O. Curry, 3rd has cared for families in their time of need with the same tradition of compassion and personal attention that had been established by his grandfather so long ago.
In October 2018, Ned retired and sold the business to Joseph Giordano Jr., who like Ned, grew up in the industry and learned the trade directly from his father. Ned passed along all of the knowledge, traditions, and history of the Curry family to Joe. Together with the experience of both families, Curry & Giordano Funeral Home came to be.
The Giordano Family
Like the Curry family,
the funeral home
has been a long
standing part of the
Giordano family.
Ralph Giordano first
started his family’s
funeral home in Harlem,
NY in 1923, when asked to by his neighbors. Having recently emigrated from Italy, Ralph was known in the community as a man of all trades. He worked hard to make a living here, taking on any jobs he could and constantly learning new skills. After helping a friend with the death of their loved one, Ralph found his calling and formally opened Ralph Giordano Funeral Home. Shortly after, he opened a second location in the Bronx. In 1967, the Harlem location closed, and the Bronx location became the sole funeral home for the Giordano family. Ralph passed the business down to his three sons, including Phil Giordano, who continued to run and operate the Bronx location. The business was later passed on again to Phil’s sons, Ralph and Joseph Sr., who currently own and operate the funeral home today. Ralph Giordano Funeral Home has been servicing the Bronx for over 95 years, and continues to be a staple in the community and industry.
Combining the long standing history of the Curry’s and Giordano’s, we are proud to bring you over 200 years of experience, compassion, and dedication.
