Arthur Bryant
Funeral Director, Founder, 1919-2013
Arthur was one of four sons born at home to Edwin Melville and Mildred Bryant in East Setauket. He was raised on the family farm currently known as “Benner’s Farm”. Shortly after graduation from Setauket High School, he served his country as a Sgt. in the Army Air Force, stationed in England.
After World War II, Arthur married Martha Curtis of Port Jefferson, built a home in Setauket, where they raised their three sons, Arthur Jr., Herbert, and Frederick. Art and Mart ran several successful area businesses. In the 1960’s he earned his New York State funeral director’s license, achieving a lifelong dream.
