Dyzart John Robb Founder and President
1924 - 1957
Dyzart began his career
in the funeral profession
as an apprentice with Phippen & Simpson Funeral Home of Sarnia. He purchased the company in 1924 and operated it under the name of D. J. Robb Funeral Home and Ambulance Service for the next 33 years. He died in September of 1957 while working at his desk. He left his two sons a legacy of valued service and a standard of excellence that is still maintained today.

After graduation
from the Canadian
School of Embalming
in 1945, Bob joined his
father and began his career
in funeral service. He worked as a funeral director/embalmer as well as ambulance attendant. He was joined by his older brother Jack in 1947. Jack and Bob worked under their father Dyzart until his death in 1957. After Jack’s death in 1979, Bob became the sole owner of the D. J. Robb Funeral Home. In 1980, a year following Jack’s death, Bob felt it was time to begin the process of entering into a partnership agreement with his sons Jim (Treasurer) and Bill (Vice-President). Both had been licensed and working with the firm for several years. They began the purchase of shares, becoming partners in the company. Bob suffered a severe stroke in 1982 that forced him into early retirement but was proud to see that the
