President’s Society Award
This award is given to a student who is academically excellent, and who has gone above and beyond in providing service to the WesternU community.
Dean’s Award
This award is presented to a student who demonstrates excellence in service to WesternU, the College, and the local community, in addition to providing exemplary leadership at the national and local levels.
Brian Diep

Brooke Atkinson
Class of 2021
Brooke is a committed servant- leader. She is passionate about helping her fellow students and earned a position as an NMM/ OMM Pre-Doctoral Teaching Fellow. Her desire to blend all aspects of health, including physical health and nutrition, allowed her
to become a valuable leader in the MEDWell program. In addition to teaching her fellow
students, Brooke developed her own culinary medicine curriculum through the Lifestyle Medicine Track and taught the course at the local Native American community on the San Manuel Indian Reservation. She provided attendees with affordable, healthy, and delicious recipes to benefit their health and help decrease risk associated with chronic diseases.
Brian has lived out these words in so many ways at COMP. As President of the Student Osteopathic Medical Association the organization’s tenets, and
  (SOMA) Brian redefined
then led the group to impressive accomplishments. At SOMA’s Get Up and Move Health Fair, students and practitioners conducted free health screenings, provided bilingual health education, and distributed over 1000 pounds of fresh produce to attendees. Brian also reimagined the COMPanion mentoring program for incoming students. Brian is incredibly accomplished and selfless, and we are proud to call him one of our own.
