The people chant the Third Antiphon with the verses followed by the Troparion of the day, or the Beatitudes.
At the chanting of Glory to the Father..., the Priest and Deacon, standing before the Holy Table, make three small prostrations. The Priest, taking up the Holy Gospel, gives it to the Deacon, and they make the Small Entrance.
The Entrance with the Holy Gospel
As the Third Antiphon or the Beatitudes are chanted, the Priest and Deacon, carrying the holy Gospel, come in procession before the holy doors and the Priest prays:
Priest: Master, Lord our God, Who has established the orders and hosts of angels and archangels in heaven to minister to Your glory, grant that holy angels may enter with our en trance, concelebrating with us, and with us glorifying Your goodness. For to You belong all glory, honor, and worship, to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit, now and forever and to the ages of ages.
Following the prayer, the Deacon, showing to the East, with his orarion, says to the Priest:
Bless, Master, the holy entrance.
And the Priest, blessing the entrance, says, in a low voice:
Blessed is the entrance of Your holy ones, now and forever and to the ages of ages. Amen.
The Deacon then raises the holy Gospel and says:
Wisdom! Arise!
