A great emphasis was made placed by the architects in preserving the environment when designing the low rise southern style buildings, resulting in a resort complementing the setting rather than competing with it. The name “Pimalai’ is a derivation of the ancient Indian language of Sanskrit and translates, appropriately, as “A little piece of Heaven”; this is a reflection of the stunning natural beauty and tranquility that are found both within the resort and also in its surroundings.
