La clearance dialitica
• 100 mg per dL, and the outlet level is 25 mg per dL. The clearance is 200 mL × (100 – 25)/100 = 150 mL per
• minute. If the blood flow rate is now increased to 400 mL per minute, the outlet plasma urea nitrogen level will
• increase (how much depends on the efficiency of the dialyzer), typically from 25 to about 50 mg per dL. Now
• the clearance is 400 × (100 – 50)/100 = 200 mL per minute. Thus, a 100% increase in the blood flow rate (from
• 200 to 400 mL per minute) will have raised the blood urea clearance by only 33%, from 150 to 200 mL per
• minute.
