THE NATIONAL MARBLES TOURNAMENT CELEBRATES OVER 100 YEARS:
The National Marbles Tournament was first held in 1922. The “mibsters”(marble shooters) compete for national honors, college scholarships and numerous prizes and awards. Every year during Father’s Day week,
the mibsters play more than 1,200 games over the four-day tournament on 10 permanent marbles rings planted on the beach at Ringer Stadium, Wildwood Ave. and the Beach in Wildwood. Champions selected from local tournaments held in cities and counties around the United States represent thousands of competitors and will converge on Wildwood for a week of serious marble competition and fun on amusement rides and boardwalk attractions. The Bayshore Center at Bivalve is New Jersey’s only environmental history museum and the home port of the AJ Meerwald.
