CAMPING IN SOUTHERN NEW JERSEY
is big business! With more than 15,000 sites in 47 campgrounds in Cape May County – and another 15 or so additional campgrounds in Atlantic County adding another 2,000 more sites – that’s a lot of space for RVs, tents, pop-ups and cabins.
Here’s another indication of just how popular campgrounds are in Southern New Jersey. Many local residents, already living near the beach and other attractions, actually opt for staycations at local campgrounds – sometimes for a week or two, others for most of the summer.
Most campgrounds provide all the comforts of home – and then some. Think cable, Wi-Fi, air conditioning plus the amenities of pools, activities, amusements, community centers – little wonder that campgrounds are an attractive alternative for a vacation close to home.
