EAST LYNNE THEATER COMPANY: Craig Fols, a seasoned actor, playwright and director, marks 2024 as his second full season of the East Lynne Theater Company (ELTC). Fols and company present an exciting mainstage lineup in ELTC’s current venue at the Cape May Presbyterian Church located at 500 Hughes Street.
ELTC’s season begins with Tea for Three: Lady Bird, Pat & Betty by Eric H. Weinberger and Elaine Bromka. This is a 90-minute play about three very different First Ladies of the United States: Lady Bird Johnson, Pat Nixon and Betty Ford. Tea for Three opens June 19 and runs 7 p.m. Wednesdays through Saturdays through July 6, except July 3 and 4. There will be special showings at 7 p.m. Tuesday, July 2, and a 4 p.m. tea time matinee Thursday, July 4.
ELTC’s centerpiece for the upcoming season is the gripping play Dial M for Murder. This fresh adaptation by Jeffrey Hatcher has been making waves and earning acclaim at leading regional theaters. Inspired by Frederick Knott’s original thriller (which also served as the basis for Hitchcock’s masterpiece), this production beautifully embodies the theme of ELTC’s 2024 season. Dial M will take place 7 p.m. Wednesdays to Saturdays from July 31 to Aug. 31.
Beginning Sept. 18, A Case for the Existence of God by Samuel D. Hunter revolves around two men – one Black, one white; one straight, one gay; both single fathers of daughters – who, through empathy and humor, form an unlikely bond within the walls of an office cubicle.. A Case for the Existence of God will run 7 p.m. Wednesdays to Saturdays through Oct. 12.
