Royal Credit Union Boardroom Eau Claire, Wis.
EPA was selected by Royal Credit Union (RCU) in Eau Claire, Wis. to perform on- going updates of their Boardroom space
to maintain effective communication for their staff. EPA was initially consulted to address audio issues within the room and has since been trusted as the preferred AV integrator for the branch. The latest chang- es required replacement of the antiquated projection and analog video equipment
as these systems could no longer support modern presentation and collaboration use.
The most striking enhancement was the move from a 4:3 analog projection sys- tem to a 98” 4K/UHD capable LED video monitor as the main presentation display. The new display immediately improved the visual impact of the system without being hindered by ambient lighting from win- dows overlooking the river along the rear wall. The video switching, extension and distribution were updated to a Crestron DigitalMediaTM Presentation System which also provides system control processing duties all within a single rack unit com- ponent. The addition of Barco ClickShare wireless presentation enables staff and guests anywhere within the room to easily

connect and display content to the video system.
Zoom video conferencing has become a staple communication method for RCU and presented a necessary capability of the new system. To accommodate, a new Vad- dio RoboSHOT PTZ camera was installed at the front of the room to provide high definition video capture of the participants along with HDBaseT single wire connec- tion back to the room’s PC to enable USB connectivity for Zoom. The existing audio components that were integrated by EPA previously were reconfigured to work with the Zoom conferencing environment while continuing to provide traditional audio conferencing and sound reinforcement. This design goal maintained familiar func- tionality for users while also providing cost savings to RCU.
The system was finalized by a multiple touch panel control environment that eas- ily manages all of the room’s AV function- ality include system power, input selection, program volume, camera PTZ functions, audio conference dialer and room lighting and shade control. A secondary wireless touch panel mirrors the table unit for mo- bility throughout the space.
Special Accommodation: The tremendous flexibility of Crestron’s control environment and EPA’s skilled programming capabilities were quickly realized after real-world sys- tem testing with the client. The room was initially programmed to run in the Zoom Room one-touch mode but, was later mi- grated over to the custom EPA interface to provide more precise control of the room functions and maintain full PC utilization.
