Santa Cruz County is  lled with beaches, forests and outdoor spaces galore. From West Cliff Drive to the almost unlimited acres of redwood forests and hiking trails in Big Basin and Henry Cowell State Parks, all are great places to work off excess energy and to relax and enjoy the scenery.
Monterey Bay National Marine  Sanctuary Exploration Center. Twenty years after its designation as one of the nation’s largest marine sanctuaries, a new state-of-the art visitor center opened July 23rd, 2012. Overlooking
the ocean, the Sanctuary Exploration Center is located in the heart of the
Santa Cruz’s famed beach area just steps away from the city’s Municipal Wharf.
The center features engaging interactive and multi-media exhibits to help visitors explore the sanctuary’s remarkable marine environment, as well as their personal
role in protecting this special underwater treasure.
Ano Nuevo State Reserve:
Take a self-guided walk to watch these massive sea mammals cavort along the shore. Visit the bookstore and interpretive center. Open 8am to sunset. 23 miles north of Santa Cruz, Highway 1.

mystery Spot: At the Mystery Spot

Wilder Ranch: Take a trip back to
the late 1800s to a dairy farm that has
