Learn-to-Swim
Program Packages
The Water Safety Learn-to-Swim program at Chehalem Aquatic &Fitness Center follows the guidelines and teaching progressions established by the American Red Cross. We have a variety of different program packages and options available, with lessons scheduled in the morning, afternoon, and evening. Our lesson schedule is subject to change without notice, as swim classes may be changed or added as registration demands. Classes may be cancelled if minimum enrollment is not met.
Regular Group (RG)
These classes meet Monday–Friday for two weeks. Our Parent and Tot and Tiny Tots are also considered to be a Regular Group.
Small Group (SG)
These classes meet Monday–Friday for one week. Small Group classes include Preschool Levels 1–3 and school age Levels 1–4. Level 5/6 is not always offered in a small group format.
Private Lessons
These classes have a 1-to-1 or 1-to-2 instructor-to-student ratio. Students will be taught at their own level with their personal goals and objectives in mind. Lessons by appointment only; meet Monday through Friday for one week. Contact 503.537.2909. Cost per 30-minute lesson is $20/25; add a second student for $14/17 per lesson.
Special needs Lessons
Swim lessons for individuals with special needs are available on an appointment basis. Lessons typically
run Monday through Friday for one week. Instructors work within each student’s abilities to create a realistic objective for student and parent. To be added to the waitlist, contact the receptionist. Cost per 30-minute lesson is $14/17.
Holiday Group (HG)
This session features a four-lesson set taking place Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday of the July holiday week (July 1–5). Each lesson is 45 minutes long. Enrollment is limited to four students. All ages and skill levels may not be offered.
