    Theme for 2019-20
Don’t miss your opportunity to sponsor the 32nd annual Lions International Peace Poster Contest. District 2-X1 urges all Lions Clubs to engage with the youth in their community to sponsor an
entry for the District’s Peace Poster Contest. The Journey of Peace begins with you and your Club.
How the Contest works: Only a Lions Club can sponsor the contest. There is no limit for a club’s participation provided the club acquires and use separate ‘Peace Poster Kit’ from LCI for each contest organized. Only one entry per student and each entry must be the work of only one student. The contest is open to young people ages 11, 12 & 13 on November 15, 2019.
Art: Participants use a variety of mediums, including charcoal, crayon, pencil and paint, to express the theme “Journey of Peace”. The artwork must be no smaller than 13”x20” and no larger than 20”x24”. Do not laminate, mat or frame artwork. Three-dimensional entries NOT accepted. Nothing may be glued, stapled or attached to the artwork. Get complete contest details at lionsclubs.org and/or from the Peace Poster Kit now available at LCI Club Supplies.
Judging: Each poster is judged on originality, artistic merit and expression of the theme. Posters advance through several judging levels: local, district, multiple-district and international. Only one poster is selected at the District 2-X1 level as its entry for Multiple District (Texas) contest. MD-2 then chooses one poster to send to International HQ for the final judging. At the international level, judges from the art, peace, youth, education and media communities select one grand prize winner and 23 merit award winners. More than 600,000 children participate annually world over.
