VOTING ELIGIBILITY
NEW DUES PAYMENT REQUIREMENT (Article IX, Section 3 of International By-Laws)
Based on the rules approved by LCI, all dues (International, MD-2 State and District 2-X1) must be in the hands of Lions Clubs International and the District Treasurer by no later than 15 days prior to the close of credential certification (Article IX, Section 3 of International By-Laws). Our District Convention begins on April 26, therefore, all Clubs in District 2-X1 must have their delinquent dues paid by April 11, 2019. If a Club fails to meet that deadline, they will not be allowed to have a delegate or alternate from their Club to vote at our District Convention.
CLUB DELEGATE ALLOWANCE (Article IX, Section 3 of International By-Laws)
Each chartered Lions club in good standing in the association (payment of all outstanding invoices to LCI) and its district (payment of all outstanding invoices to District 2-X1) shall be entitled in each annual convention of its district to one (1) delegate and one (1) alternate delegate for each ten members who have been enrolled for at least one year and a day in the club, or major fraction thereof, of said club as shown by the records of the international office on the first day of the month (March 1) last preceding that month during which the convention is held. The major fraction referred to in this section shall be five (5) or more members. (Past District Governors are not included in this count and are entitled to vote at our District Convention). (Please note that credential information on the good standing of any club will not be available from LCI by March 1, but the rule still applies).
DELEGATE AND ALTERNATE DELEGATE REGISTRATION
All clubs must register their delegates and alternate delegates with the Cabinet Secretary prior to the convention. The deadline for the registration is by April 11, 2019. The Governor can no longer certify any delegates. Only two officers from their club can acknowledge they are in Good Standing.
VOTING
Each certified delegate present in person shall be entitled to cast one (1) vote of his/her choice for each office to be filled by, and one (1) vote of his/her choice on each question submitted to the respective convention. Eligible delegates must be members in good standing (dues paid current) of a chartered Lions club in good standing in the district.
