VINOD’S VIEWS
Hope all Lions had good holidays with family and friends. As our motto “We Serve” the Lions helped those less fortunate ones to bring a little joy in their lives. On Christmas eve, our club DFLC distributed blankets to keep some of the homeless a little warm. I also attended a X’mas celebration organized by Grand Prairie Host Club, and that night they donated $1000 to a homeless shelter. I applaud all the other clubs in the district who did projects to help the homeless during this difficult time. This year LCI has started a ‘Dial it Up’ campaign, urging all lions to go the extra mile, as a little bit extra makes a huge
difference, both in membership and service. This year we are very close to turning the membership into positive, in our CA-1. Our district has done well by our membership growth to 55, and we need to continue this trend for rest of the year.
District 2_X1 Mid- Winter conference is set for Jan 12, in Duncanville. All club officers and members are invited to attend. Besides the cabinet meeting, several breakout sessions are planned. Our founder Melvin Jones birthday is on January 13, and as he taught us, it’s that as we serve, we grow. And we were never meant to be stopped.

The first six months of our Lions Year is complete. I find that January is a good time to evaluate what we have done in the past and plan what we will do in our next six months. The basis of being a Lion is for service to others. We should always be looking for better ways to be of better service to others. Lions in our District do so much good. I see it every time I get out in our District. I am so proud to be a Lion in District 2- X1. I hope everyone is looking forward to our Mid-Winter Conference Meeting in Duncanville on January 12. Please look for all the details coming soon and plan to attend. To this point in our Lions Year we are up in Membership. I hope everyone will continue to work to grow our Membership. The
Plano Collin Nepalese Lions Club will hold their Charter Night on January 19. I hope a lot of our District Clubs come to support this new Club. Please keep working and serving your communities. Service is the key that makes a Lion a Lion.
