The Debate Club continued this year under the tutelage of Mr. Peters. After being introduced to the basics of formal debating — the construction of resolu­ tions, affirmative briefs and negative briefs, cross-examination the club began research into issues they chose.
Debates began in earnest after Winter Vacation . . . Should abortion be legal? Should rock music be rated? Should marijuana be legalized? These and other topics were debated first by the two teams of two, and then by the club at large. It was a fascinating way to discuss the issues of the day and examine our values.
