 The 1959 Maroon and Gold was Wardlaw's first yearbook to be entered in the Columbia Scho­ lastic Press Association competition, emerging with a "First Place" citation, earning 873 out of a pos­ sible 1000 points. This accomplishment certainly
deserves the acclaim of all.
"Cast your cockeyed gleamers on that one, gentlemen . .
A notable "first" in Wardlaw history was the appear­ ance of "El Cristal de Reloj", a lively little news sheet, edited and published by the five boys of Mr. Vietor's Spanish III class, pictured left.
