 The Oahwood Dramatic Association
The Oakwood Dramatic Society was started in nineteen nineteen by Helena Simkhovitch and Serena Murphy for the purpose of furthering dra
matics in the school. All the plays heretofore had been given under the auspices of the school, but in nineteen twenty the Dramatic Society gave its first play, “ The Elopement of Ellen” . The Society has grown in numbers
and developed in many ways since then. This year it became very ambi tious and decided to give “ Ccesar and Cleopatra” , by Bernard Shaw. It
has been an overwhelming undertaking and we should all have been dis couraged long before this if it had not been for the help of Miss Mapels- den, our Honorary President, and Miss Murphy, and above all for the wonderfully generous work of Mr. Tie with the scenery,
Thanks are also due to Laura Butterfield and Betty Walbridge, who have given a great deal of their time and effort. Unfortunately the pictures of the play are
not finished so we have only the list of the cast.
