THE BANK AND EDUCATION
While it is not j^'enerally so re,swarded, the l)ank or trust company is an educational institution whose function in the economic life of the
community is an important one.
The Officers of Tht Plainfield Trust Company, with this thought in
mind, have built up an organization which covers every phase of bank ing and at the same time they are endeavoring to educate the public, through advertising and personal interviews, to use this organization
for their own advantage.
The following examples will serve to illustrate this statement; many others will doubtless suggest themselves to the reader:
The Vacation and Christmas Club member is learning by an easy and effective method the value of systematic saving.
The Special Department Depositor acquires a practxal knowledge of compound interest and learns how materially 4 per cent interest credited twice a year helps an account to grow.
The woman who keeps a Checking Account is learning simple accounting and is accpuring the habit of conducting her household affairs
on a business basis.
The business man who requires accommodation learns the proper
use of hank credit and receives from our Officers many constructive suggestions as to the best bookkeeping methods, the wisest business
policy, etc.
The patron of our Trust De\])artment learns how to relieve himself
of troublesome details by allowing the Company to act as his financial
secretary; he also learns how to make the efloits of a lifetime ellcct \e liy appointing the Trust Company as his executor and trustee so that
h;s plans for his family may be faithfully carried o.it.
