Go pick up an old yearbook. Read through it. Now flip through the book you are holding in your hand. As you can see, this year’s yearbook represents a clear departure in the evolution of our Maroon and Gold. Many things were responsible lor making this difference such as a more active group of photo graphers and people with innovative ideas for layouts. Undoubtedly, this year’s Maroon and Gold is different because it represents a team effort and is the product of the hard work and sacrifice ol a number of people, not just a few.
As editor-in-chief I would like to thank the people responsible for this book. Mr. George Ljutieh, our advisor, kept us going with his incredible patience and devotion without which this yearbook would have been a duplicate of past books. David Gibson produced excellent artwork at a moment’s notice. Mike “Tic" Pearson kept us laughing with his fresh copy. Mark Medici bailed us out more than once with his wizardry in the darkroom.^Our “Junior team” of Garrett Keating, Billy Neal, Rob Bronstein, Greg Hale and David Brown pro duced innovative ideas and the majority of the layouts in this book. The “Sophomore” team of Mitch Tollman and Scott Whitham learned quickly and also helped enormously with layouts. Dan Merians did a super job with the business staff which raised enough money to make the colors and foldout sec tion possible.
Also, a special thanks goes to Mr. Phil Berkebile, who took all of our formal team and club photos, Mrs. Julie Timberlake. who helped us with proofing copy, and Mr. Wynne Murchison, our American Yearbook representative, who offered guidance and flexibility with deadline dates.
