It is a bitter cold day and we are all standing huddled in coats on the hockey field. "Where is Pudge?” "Where can she have gone?” "They say she has left the house.” Suddenly up strolls Pudge, with a blithe smile. "Is everyone ready?” And then the hockey game can go on. But in spite of this one failing, Pudge is a great favorite. We don’t see much of her out of school—she’s generally to be found at the Essex House or the
Central Park Casino. She’s nice to have around, funny, always well- dressed and "piquant,” she’s welcome anywhere.
