The Junior Statesmen debated everything — from Glasnost to a balanced budget amendment — to everywhere — from Philadelphia to New York. Attendance at the fall Philadelphia conference was high as members debated issues from the 50's to the 90's. Some of the debates were held in Independence Hall, the very place our Founding Fathers debated the same issues. Anticipation mounted for the New York Conference as J.S.A. prepared to be a state and elect student officers to its cabinet. Obviously, this year was a great year for the Wardlaw-Hartridge Junior Statesmen Club.
