 MIDDLE SCHOOL
The Wardlaw Hartridge Middle School consists of the seventh and eighth grades. These two years are years of transition from the lower school to the high school life of the upper school.
Seventh grade is a student’s last year at the lower school campus. The student is part of the oldest group of students at the lower school and is looked up to by their lower class school mates. But when the student enters eighth grade, he is immediately on the bottom of the ladder-being the youn gest in the upper school.
The change from lower school to the upper school is very gradual for the middle school. In seventh grade stu dents begin to switch classes and play some sports in the upper school. They get a taste of the busy high school life.
Eighth graders get a seven period academic day instead of the eight pe riod high school day. They get the small lockers on the far end of the " C ” floor and are sometimes pushed around by the older school body. But these two tough years of transition help mold the student into a durable, responsible and a contributing member of the upper school campus.
