Sports are a vital part of the school, not only because they physically tone students, but because they give the school publicity through the newspa pers.
Sports emphasize team efforts, thus working with other people becomes necessary. Whether a person is a starter or a third string player he or she is part of a team which is the most important part.
Excelling in sports becomes very im portant to juniors and seniors because many colleges look at a student’s athle tic background when considering him or her for acceptance.
Sports require players to strive for personal goals: to be a member of that varsity team, to be appointed to an all- state team, to be the BEST.
