"This year’s Varsity Wrestling season was a character building season, we had to learn how to lose with as much grace and sportsmanship as we won,” stated Coach Les Rudnyanszky. The Varsity Wrestling Team was led this year by tri-captains Bruce Lackland, Tom Byleckie, and Vinnie Venezia. This was the team’s second time holding the Prep Ivy League Meet, in which the team placed third overall. The Varsity Wrestling Team placed eighth overall in the states though three wrestlers placed third, and they were seniors Tom Byleckie, Vinnie Venezia, and junior Dave Dittman. The two awards were given out at the winter awards assembly. The MVP and the Coaches
award, which went to Vinnie Venezia and Andy Adams respectively. The team had a lot of support and help from its managers Elise Goldstein, Cindy Mallin, Jill Kenny, and Jill Sorger
