The core of any school’s academic power lies in the caliber of the faculty force. The veteran members, some of whom date back to before the merger, exude their experience while every year new methods and ideas infiltrate the ranks with the addition of fresh and eager staff. The combination of innovation and time-honored rituals have obviously reaped bountiful results as attested by the senior class accep tance rate and the number of presti gious college names in the final atten dance list.
Every student leaves high school with permanent memories of that in credibly tough teacher or that one spe cial tutor who first broke the mental bloc previously believed immovable. Perhaps a scent of flowers or tobacco, the flash of a certain pair of glasses, the sound of a distinctive voice remain locked indelibly associated among the impressions retained in every stu dent’s mind. These special teachers are the ones who spark the flicker of interest in a youthful intellect that later burst into the flame of lifelong fascination.
