 Marionni
,Mr. Roland Marionni has been the backbone of the senior class. When we came to the Upper School as freshman, his guidance and unconditional support enabled us to transition into a new academic community with relative ease. For some students, Mr. Marionni has been a confidant. For others he has provided humor during the course of the day. For his colleagues he serves as a reminder that to be an educator means knowing how to balance what students want with what students need. Mr. Marionni’s door was always open, and he was ready and willing to be the voice of reason or to lend a listening ear. The compassion Mr. Marionni displayed for our class has been evident in a number of ways. Whether it was a social or an academic problem, he was able to present another perspective in any situation and offer a solution almost immediately. His loving "gentle reminders" forced us to take responsibility for our actions.
The talent he demonstrated in his subject area, combined with his unique ability to bake (He contributed the bulk of our pies in several bake sales.) reaffirms how multifaceted Mr. Marionni truly was. As our dean, Mr. Marionni supported us even when it was an unpopular course of action. So this year, we wanted to thank him for all has done. Our future achievements, after we leave the comfortable safety of Wardlaw-
