Senior Class History
Alas! the Class of Twenty-six can not trace its history hack to the kindergarten. Its first member, Peggy O’Neil, who is now devoting her
efforts toward music, entered The Hartridge School in the second grade. Two years later Florence Meeker joined her and was immediately elected class president, a position which she has often held since. In the sixth
grade we welcomed Else Kroll, our model of grace, Shirley Way, of the free and easy manner, and Virginia Murray, with her calm and studious ways. Julia Scott Butterfield entered the seventh grade, and we have
always been proud of her athletic ability and vivacity. In the first aca­ demic our class was further augmented by lovely-mannered Caroline Christy, Ruth Ferris, whose sweet disposition endears her to all; Margaret Ludwig, our class mannequin and Virgil star; Jeannette Sim, with her sparkling wit and literary talent, and Helen Sim, whose great dancing ability we all admire. When we had achieved the rank of Sophomores,
Dorothy Bugbee, whose dramatic skill is well known, and Jean Bassett, our talented artist, joined us. As Juniors we made three more acquisitions: Alary Harriet Collins, with a lovely voice and much musical intelligence;
