7'he Athletic Association headed by Julia Scott Butterfield, Katharine Powell, and Shirley Way, the three officers, and Miss Jenkins as the
director, had its main ex’ent of the year on November tenth, d'hat is, our \’arsity hockey team played Kent Place. On one side of the field that day a large cheering section collectetl for 1lartridge. On the other side were the girls from Kent Place. I hanks to the combined efforts of the cheer leader, Mary Harriet Collins, and Adrienne Linbarger and Nancy
Humpstone, as the assistants, our team was well backed. Our entire team played with the exception of Julia Scott Butterfield, who, having suffered a sprained ankle the day before, was substituted for by Helen Butterfield.
I he first quarter was \’ery close and no goals were scored, hut before the end of the half was o\'er there were two goals for Hartridge. In the last half the forwards made three more goals and the game came to an
end 5-0 in favor of Hartridge. Although we won and Kent Place made
no goals, we had to admit that they hatl decidedly better form and played a more scientific game.
"Phe basketball teams hatl to be picked and the first class games run
off without Miss Jenkins, as shortly after Christmas vacation she went
home with an attack of appendicitis. She returned, however, in time to
see the most exciting class games played off and to choose the two school teams.
In the two minor branches of athletics, howling and skating, we were hardly successful. We seemed to find time very scarce in which to bowl and there was unfortunately a superfluous amount of snow for good ice.
the Day Scholars succeeded in electing a president, Shirley Way, of their
Bowling Club, and the Boarders went skating several times on rather rocky ice.

The Athletic Banquet last May marked the end of a most successful year and was a very bnlliant affair. Many toasts proposed by our witty toastmistress, Phoebe Gow Gregor, were drunk to the leaders of the year. After the awarding of the letters for those on winning teams, the rest of the evening was spent in dancing.
