The French Club
President—Hester Meigs Viee-President—Margaret Button
Seeretary-Treasiirer—Elizabeth Walbridge
Early in the fall a meeting of the girls of the IMurth and Fifth Academic was called to organize a French Club. Officers were elected and Mademoiselle Renouard was asked to he Flonorary President. We decided to hold meetings twice a month, serving tea once a month. At these meetings Mademoiselle Renouard speaks to us in French on topics f)f the day, French life, and some of
her own very interesting experiences. Only French is spoken at the meetings, and because of this almost all the girls feel that it has given them practice in
speaking and helped them gain a larger vocabulary.
At the fair held on Friday, April 7th, the Cluh had a table to which each member contributed one article. The girls who served were dressed in
costumes typical of various sections of France. Our net proceeds were $125.25.
