GIRLS’ VARSITY BASKETBALL
The Girls’ Varsity Basketball Team completed its finest season ever by winning the Division B State Championship. The girls outplayed their opponents all season. A superb defense combined with a fast-breaking offense proved too much for their hapless opponents.
The state tournament was the highlight of the season. Seeded first in this tournament, they played Newark Academy in the semifinals and won by the score of 40-29. Then they beat Gill St. Bernards 35-26 and won their first state championship ever. Congratulations to Coach Doug Anderson and his entire squad!
