With the best infield in several years and a strong pitch­ ing staff. Coaches Harold Breene and Edward Gunther foresaw a good season for the junior baseball team.
The "all-star" infield consisted of Eric Galton at first base, E. A. Kratzman at second, Don McGinn as shortstop, and Cappy Hansel at the hot corner.
The battery had Russ Hewit behind the plate and Mark Bonn on the mound. Chasing fly balls in the outfield were Clark Runyon, Jim Searls, and Mike Cohen.
