This year Wardlaw-Hartridge has gained a new head master, Mr. Burgess N. Ayres. Mr. Ayres comes to us from Montclair-Kimberly, where he was division head. He brings with him fresh ideas, and a respect for W-H’s traditional style.
Mr. Ayres says he is very happy to have been chosen to replace Mr. Prentice Horne. He likes the small size of the school and the enthusiasm shown by the students.
“ The energetic participation in extra-curricular activities is one of the school's strongest assets,” Mr. Ayres has said. “ I like the pleasant attitude displayed by Wardlaw- Hartridge students.”
Mr. Ayres will work to carry through bright plans for the future. Sharing the school’s philosophy of education, he wishes to oversee a continued growth in the strength of the academic program. He would like to see a more diverse curriculum offered. But, whatever changes are made in the academic area, he hopes to preserve the exuberance and involvement of the student body. His ultimate goal is not so much to change Wardlaw-Hartridge into something else, but to improve it by building on what it is already.
The entire faculty and student body join in wishing Mr. Ayres good luck. We welcome him to Wardlaw-Hartridge, and support him in every possible way.
