 Lower & Middle School Speeches
Every year before the 5th and 8th graders graduate, Lower and Middle School students are required to make a speech, which they present to their Heads of School, teachers, and peers. These experiences are merely two of the innumerable opportunities that students have to let their voices be heard at Wardlaw-Hartridge.
The Capstone course is a year-long seminar that seniors can elect to take. Students select a topic of particular interest and focus on it for the year - intensively researching and creating a final product. The culmination of the course includes a 30-minute multimedia presentation to an audience of peers, faculty, administrators, and community members, along with a panel of evaluators. This year sixteen students elected to participate in Capstone, with our first ever Global Scholar, Roshun Menon. Topics ranged from A Study of Fear in Scuba Diving to the Acculturation of Second Generation South Asian Immigrants.
