Miss Hartridge’s Party for the Seniors
Miss Martridge and Miss iMapelsden entertained the Seniors at luncheon at the Ciotham Hotel on the twenty-eighth of last May. The
party then enjoyed a performance of “ Caponsacchi,” with Walter Hamp den in the title role, and returned home proclaiming their day most delight
ful.
Oakwood Evenings
Oakwood evenings are spent in various ways besides studying. The first event was the party given by the “veterans” for the “new” girls,
d he Acorn was decorated as a road house and dancing was enjoyed until a quarter after nine, when a procession headed for the Main House and refreshments. 1 he next entertainment was the fashion show given by the
new girls. I'he Acorn was then transformed into a very select shop, d'he girls were the mannikins, and of course there was “ Madame” straight
from Paris. On the evening of Thanksgiving Miss Hartridge gave a bridge party to the teachers and the girls. Another evening Dr. and Airs.
Moment were our guests and the Dramatic Club gave us a beautiful enter tainment. They enacted “The Sleeping Beauty,” with Anne Moment as the lovely Princess, Ruth Gomery as the Prince, Shirley Clark as the King,
Beverley I rosdal as the Queen, Constance \"an Duyn as the Wicked Fairy, Mary Crapo as the old woman at the spinning wheel, and Cornelia Mc- Intire as the reader.
This year we had another pleasure which was new to the school— motion pictures. One of the girls had a movie camera and projector,
and entertained us several times with movies, both of our many scholastic activities and of views taken abroad. One of the most interesting films
was the Hartridge-Kent Place hockey game. Miss Hartridge has prom ised to get us “ Grass” and “ Simba” and we are eagerly awaiting this addi tion to our Oakwood evenings.
