On Saturday, March seventeenth, the school held its annual Fair for the beneht of the Children's Ward of Muhlenberg Hospital. The auditorium was beautifully decorated for the occasion, and the various
booths stood up in gayly colored splendor, d'hese had sprung up over night with almost magical speed and had transformed the auditorium
into a fairyland of gayety.
On first entering the room, no one could resist approaching the candy booth which was managed by the attractive Juniors, d heir delicious ware and the ingenious method of tying lollypops to the top of the booth won the admiration of everyone, d'he visitors were quite as reluctant to pass the fascinating flower booth and the table loaded with enticing cakes,
as they were greatly tempted by the persuasive Seniors who were selling them. 1 he gorgeous blooms, attractively arranged, sent forth their fra
grance through the whole room. The Jungle Tea Room \vas one of this year’s novelties and proved itself a great success. There one could have delicious refreshments while sitting under the greenwood tree and hanging Spanish moss. Fhe effect was enhanced by the charming Sophomore
waitresses who were dressed in delightful green smocks.
Miss Tennant’s beautiful table, tbe white elephant wares, the Easter gifts, and the Midway under the management of Miss Jenkins, all attracted
many purchasers.
I he Fair would never have been complete without the ever-popular fancy-work and stationery tables managed by the two lower Academic grades, the intriguing fortune-tellers whose many patrons emerged thrilled with their mystery, and last but by no means least, the Grab-Bag, which
throughout the afternoon supplied the demands of a steady stream of (\ young customers.
Eiveryone who took part in the Fair, making it the success that it was, contributed greatly toward the happiness of the small patients in the Children’s Ward.
