Football's season opener against Dalton school resulted in a 2 1-8 W-H vic tory. A combination of a solid running game and strong defensive play helped ' stop Dalton's mid-game momentum.
Senior runnning back Ian Dawson scored two touchdowns, with senior quarterback Eric Mele scoring the other. The strength of the offensive line played a large part in the Ram's 328 yards rushing.
The Rams broke two longstanding los ing streaks this season, one by defeating Morristown-Beard on October 12, by a score of 35-21. This was the first win against Morristown since 1991. Also, W-fl defeated the George school by a score of 32-14, breaking a three year losing! streak.
Coming off last season's 4-4 record, the varsity football squad is taking strong measures to have a winning season this year. Expansion and change have been a large part of the preseason. Several new players have been added to the roster, among them Luke Borroughs, Wayne Alston, and Ralph Folkes.
