Led by captains, seniors Nicole Everhart, Narissa Owsianik and Aliya Latif, the team is strengthened not only by its starters, but also by the bench who, unlike last year's substitutes, have made a large contribution to the team's suc cess.
“ Everyone is scoring points now," states Everhart. She and sophomore team member Jackie Sibblies, both taller than five feet eleven inches, are known as the “twin towers." The combination of Sibblies at forward and Everhart at center makes for a defense that is difficult to match. Owsianik, also at forward, is known by all for her “power rebounds," according to teammate Sarah Williamson.
Latif and Williamson, guards for the team, utilize their speed and shooting abilities to “bring in the buckets," ac cording to Kelly Newsome, assistant coach. Williamson averages 20.1 points per game, and Latif at 16 points per game, is not far behind. Williamson also has an impressive average of 6.9 assists per game.
