Varsity Basketball Overcomes Small Size with aggressive, Quick Play.
The varsity basketball team was led this season by Soph sensa tion Brian Roach who spearheaded the ram attack with 499 points for a 23 point per game average as well as grabbing a team leading average of 7 rebounds. Roach netted an incredible 50 foot shot with mere seconds to go in regulation in the opening round of the state tourney. This shot tied the game and triggered the hoop- sters to a 71-68 victory over Pennington. The squad was also led
by Duke Roth, and co-captains John Skolka and Tom Lankey. All three averaged around 10 PPG. 6’0” center Tom Glasser and light ening quick point guard Dean DeSantis were also instrumental in the team’s success.
