 BAND
This year the band, under the direction of Mrs. Lorraine Marks, has worked hard and made much progress. It has had to overcome the overall inex perience of many members, as there are only three seniors. The band has incorporated a wide selection of music in its concerts. Many well-known and tradi tional numbers were played in the Christmas con cert, including a salute to Bing Crosby, “ I’m Dream ing of a White Christmas." The spring concert in cluded a variety of both popular and classical music. A smaller ensemble called the Rock Band was form ed by certain members of the band. In a Solo and En semble Night which was scheduled for May, smaller recitals were to be given by the students including a clarinet quartet, a flute trio, a trumpet trio, and a baritone solo. Next year Mrs. Marks hopes to plan a joint concert with another school.
