STOCKIN^GS” was the amusing little comedy given by the Editors of the Elartridge School Annual to raise funds for the publishing of the Annual. It was given
Saturday evening, February twenty-third, at the Auditorium.
The play is called “Green Stockings” because the eldest sister, who is unmarried, has had to wear green stockings, according to an old custom, at the weddings of two of her sisters, and will probably
have to wear them a third time for her youngest sister, who is engaged. The cast, as a whole, was very good. ISIartin, the butler, taken by Jane Hull; Admiral Grice, an old fogy, impersonated by Adele De
Leeuw; Aunt Ida, who was Gertrude Knapp, and Plwllis, the young est sister, taken by Charlotte Hawes, were excellent. Margery Meigs took the part of Celia Faraday, the heroine, and eldest daughter of
William E'araday. She acted very well indeed and looked yery beauti- fid. Constance Warnock was the hero. Colonel John Smith. The interesting part of the play was that Celia had inyented him as a fiance, and a man by that name actually appeared.
After the play was oyer the cast receiyed loyely flowers and were warmly congratulated by their friends.
