 BASKETBALL WINS STATE TOURNAMENT
by Jason Williamson
Add versatility, summer conditioning, and talent rang ing from young enthusiasts to seasoned veterans and what do you get? The answer: a 17-0 record and your first cham pionship in eleven years. For the W-H varsity basketball team and Coach Bill Kuchar, 1993-94 was nothing short of a dream season.
Entering the year, the Rams' expectations, along with those of the public, were higher than they had been in years. The team was coming off a heartbreaking season last year, during which it was denied a state championship in the Prep B finals by Dwight Englewood. It was then time for sweet revenge. During the summer the team partici pated in an area summer basketball league at Middlesex
County College. Throughout the course of the 7 week sea son, W-H faced some of the best teams in Middlesex County, including New Brunswick, Flemington, and pow erhouses Bishop Ahr and Perth Amboy.
