Class Will and Testament
We, the seniors of 1938, believed to he in our right minds (just how right we tactfully leave unmentioned) do hereby declare this to be our last will and testament:
The Senior Class as a whole, bequeaths to the juniors “our stately demeanor," a gift handed down to us last year, which we have uncomfortably been trying to get rid of ever since.
Louise Hunn leaves her uncanny ability to figure out the impossible in geometry to Tilly, together with directions for care and feeding over summer vacation.
Eggleston parts with her nonchalance to add it to Gresham’s.
Gert passes on her poker face to Cappie.
Dot gives Keating a few geometry corrections with the hope that she will enjoy them.
Coatsie bequeaths her ability to look slightly demented in group pictures to whoever wants it, for she certainly doesn’t.
Betty leaves Kitty her post as leading soprano in the Glee Club.
To Nelson, Rausch donates her executive ability, in the hope it will help her to control next year’s seniors.
With a sigh of relief, Hon at last passes on her horse laugh to Morrow.
Bibs wills to Frostie her wallop behind a hockey ball, and to the whole Junior Class the shelf in the back of Study Hall for use in storing song books.
Jo regretfully parts with her gift of looking graceful on all occasions, to give it to Audrey.
Nance leaves her impeccable dignity to Tweedy, while Eth adds to it a certain air of self-possession.
Peggy gives her general genius for making things go to Freddie.
To Patty Ailing, Cuffie passes on her position as class funny bone.
Van Ness leaves her blonde good looks to Campbell.
Ruth Weir donates to Janet Shannon her very immousy quietness.
Bar leaves her spunk to Carter.
To Pouch, Mary leaves her warm spot by the radiator in English class, hoping it will prove comforting on cold days.
