An interesting' program marked the first commence ment exercises of the Wardlaw School held in the gvmnas- ium of the school. In addition to the musical and literary numbers, the afifair was featured by a military drill and
track meet, in which the entire school of seventy boys par ticipated. There was a large attendance of relatives and friends, who generously ai>plauded the efiforts of the stu dents and spoke words of praise for Mr. W'ardlaw and his faculty for the excellent results obtained. The \]>rogram, which began at 9.15 o’clock, was as follows:

of enthusiasm. The military drill was followed with a drill bv the boys of the first four grades, ably led by Harry McMenimen.
■Martin Charles, of the eighth grade, received a $10 gold \])iece as first prize in scholarship for boys above that grade, and i\\[a.xwell iMoore received a two and one-half dollar gold piece for scholarship below fourth grade. lioth prizes were given by IMrs. J. G. Rossman.
