Mrs. Schanz Begins Wardlaw with Current Graduates
When members of the Class of 1968 entered kindergarten, they were greeted by their teacher, Mrs. hlizabeth M. Schanz, then in her first year at Wardlaw. The 1968 Maroon and Gold is dedi cated to Mrs. Schanz.
In the classroom Mrs. Schanz is all patience and understanding but holds the respect and at tention of her young charges. As her students move forward with the years, she maintains a congenial interest in them and never minds giving a dignified “what-for” should occasion or con duct demand it.
The Schanzes are really a Wardlaw family. Miss Jillian E. Schanz, daughter of the family.
graduated from Montclair State Teachers College and began her first year of teaching at Ward- law last September in the science department. Son Michael attended W ardlaw through the eighth grade and is graduating this June from St. Joseph’s in Metuchen. Mr. Francis L. Schanz is an ac countant with the Wigton Abbott Corporation.
Although only two of Mrs. Schanz’s original kindergarteners graduated with the class this June, she was always throughout the past twelve years a real inspiration to the Class of 1968. Her guid ance and friendship will always be gratefully re membered.
Mrs. tlizabeth M. Schanz
