April and May are two of the busiest months of the entire school year. April especially is a time of hectic preparation. The annual science fair in April kicks off the long string of final projects, presentations, and activities that end the year. As JB & Noah kindle excitement within the school community for Walk MS, students in all divisions work with the music & fine arts departments to become performance-ready for the spring concerts. Mrs. Byrne and Mrs. Caldwell rehearse with the choirs from Lower, Middle, and Upper Schools while art teachers Ms Goldman, Ms Tucker and Mrs. Howard mat their students' drawings and paintings to line the halls for the art shows. Headed by choir president Milika Griffiths '12, the musically inclined students of the Upper School also begin planning for the third annual Cookin' Cabaret at the end of May. Meanwhile, AP teachers and students are counting down the days until AP exams, cramming in as many hours of studying as they can to try to get those perfect 5's. Through it all, the warming weather draws students outside with spring sports, outdoor lunches, and playground activities in the Lower School.
Looking Forward
At the end of the year, we do
more than ever.
April & May also see the endings of many important projects. As the yearbook works hard to put the finishing touches on this year's book and send it off to the printer, the seniors work to fulfill their final graduation requirements, including senior internships and the last of the senior speeches. They make their final college decisions and wear their choices proudly in the senior college sweatshirt photo before their final farewells: the senior awards dinner, prom, and graduation. In the meantime, even the sophom ores are looking to their future as they take a class trip to visit The College of New Jersey. Last projects are handed in, students begin studying for finals, and the school celebrates the year's accomplishments at events like Rams Recognition Night. The school year draws to a close with busy excitement-an appropriate end for a
school that is always involved in more than it seems to be.
