The Fair
On Saturday, March the sixteenth, the school held its annual fair for the benefit of the Children’s Ward of Muhlenberg Hospital. The auditor ium was decorated in gay colors, each class vying with the others in origi nality and beauty.
As one entered the room, the futuristic designs of the Juniors’ candy table first met the eye. It was hard to go past the tempting array of cakes that the Seniors were selling in conjunction with the flower table, where
all kinds of beautiful bouquets were for sale. "Fhe Sophomores’ tea room was attractively set out under large beach umbrellas. Miss Tennant sold jewelry, glass, and scarfs that came from all over the world. The white elephant table, the stationery table, linens, silk batik scarfs, travelers’ aids,
and toys were among the numerous things sold.
A novelty was the reading of handwriting. This addition was a great success, and we hope that we shall have the pleasure of it again.
The Midway attracted a crowd, who bowled, played pool, and bought popcorn, punch, and ice cream.
Everyone, we are sure, enjoyed the afternoon, and with the money earned we shall help to make the children in the hospital happy, too.
