THE BEACON
Under the leadership of editors Lara Spingler, Bridget Farrell, Marin Resnick and Matt Berkowitz, the 1992-93 £ continued its tradition of informing and entertaining the school community.
This year saw the introduction of a page devoted exclusively to entertainment and containing a brand new fe horoscopes, for the first time in 20 years, the Beacon polled its readers to elicit their opinions of the paper. Result; mainly positive but also bizarre, with some students stating that, though they read little of the paper, they would like it appear more often.
The camera skills of David Slurzberg, assisted by James fleck, brought a major improvement in Beacon photograpi page 2, Spingler and Farrell continued their column 'Right and Left", raising a few eyebrows when they tackled the is: condoms in schools. October's editorial on male sexism at W-FI angered a few senior males, while the title, "Advice fror Hartridge ", used for an October column, brought two letters of protest from flartridge alumnae.
But, for the most part, readers of the Beacon seemed to follow the advice of sports editor Berkowitz in his first "Squi
Column":
sit back, relax and enjoy."
